An August sunset at Robin’s Island.
The place I affectionately call the shack, sits on the edge of the Essex Bay and it’s porch looks north and slightly west. The sunsets from here are routinely spectacular. This one would be called average.
I drove out across the salt marsh hoping the tide would be right for a swim, before the sun would go down.
The water was perfect and I got my swim in while the sun was still high enough that I could enjoy it’s warmth in the air.
The sunsets here are dynamic, changing every minute as the sun descends and the winds gently shift the clouds in the view. The light plays beautiful colors inspiring awe often for more than an hour.
As I stepped out to leave, the clouds above and around we lit by the light of the sunset.
The following photo is taken from the same place as the first, which was looking west across the green salt marsh. Here the clouds to the east alight with the colors of the sunset to the west.
